Overall, I am a pretty easy going gal. I get along with many people. I can be kind of quiet at times, especially when I am first getting to know someone, I open up rather quickly after that. Concerts are some of my favorite things to go to. I try to go to as many as I can. Live music is amazing. Another thing I really enjoy doing is working out. I try to work out everyday for at least an hour-hour and a half :)

I consider myself a homebody so generally enjoy staying in and reading, writing in my journal, or watching a good movie. But that's only one side of me. When I do get out in this beautiful weather, it's to walk, go camping, try my hand at fishing, or even try something new and exciting! Maybe there's something you could teach me!

I enjoy going to sporting events, especially hockey games. I would watch them on t.v., too, but being at the arenas make the game so much more thrilling! There's nothing quite as exciting as watching the players slam against the glass (especially if I'm on the other side of it!)!

I would rather have cottage cheese and pineapple than ice cream, even though I love ice cream. I love campfires, good friends, a sparkling lake, star-gazing on a clear night, movies, a good pen and a new notebook, autumn and the smell of dry leaves, marching bands and small town parades, the entire Christmas season, softly falling snow, the fresh smell of new snow, a baby's smile, clean sheets, a good massage that doesn't have to "go anywhere", studying the Word, some TV (The History Channel, HGTV, TLC, and NatGeo are a few of my favorites), and the smell of a new box of Crayolas. Someone mentioned freshly mown hay and sweet clover and I'm taking those on as my own as well!

I'm a patient, kind of goofy person who loves family and friends, cooking out, taking the grandchildren to the park, and love trying new things, just to see if I can do them. One thing I've done that totally shocks people who know me is a form of bungee jumping (free-falling from 150 ft. in a harness, then swinging until stopping)...since I'm afraid of heights, this even shocks me! I had to do it...I don't have to do it again.

Hi, I don't really know what to write, well here i go. I'm funny, intelligent,respectful and i live my life to the fullest everyday. I am a dreamer, an optimist, an introvert, a lover, and a thinker. I try not to take myself too seriously. I'm an undergraduate thinking about a career in academia... and wondering if that's a choice that would render me jaded and crusty by the time I hit 30. I cry at movies easily and laugh at little things. I can assemble a killer chicken pot pie and craft a pretty fabulous batch of almond cookies. I've tried my hand at a variety of hobbies: flint-knapping, sketching, knitting, woodworking, etc. There are few things more satisfying than the pungent scent of a very old book. I wear brightly colored scarves on gray days. Autumn is my favorite time of year, because it is both melancholy and hopeful. I swear like a sailor and make crass jokes. I took up crossword puzzles this summer, but can only reliably finish through Wednesday in the NYTimes without the task monopolizing my waking hours. I am queer and feminine. I am restless. I don't mind being lost. If there's any truth to the adage that there are but two types of courage in this world-- the courage to live and the courage to die-- I'd much rather possess the courage to live.

I was born and raised in Minneapolis in 1957 and moved to Cherokee Iowa in 1970. I lived between the two over the years along with short stays in Escondido Ca. and Lookinglass Or.

Wow, I always find these summaries to be extremely difficult to write. How can you sum yourself up in so few words? I guess you could say I'm a very out-going, funny, honest guy who just likes good company with people that I can honestly consider to be friends. Trying new things is always something I take pride in, and I'm usually up for trying anything that I am even remotely interested in. I think that everyone should be open to experiences, because how can you judge before you've experienced it yourself? I also really enjoy sitting around talking about nothing for hours on end. It seems like you learn more about people from talking about nothing than you ever would by asking them about themselves.

I love to laugh and have a good time. I like to be outside alot in the summer and play with my dog, garden, landscape and keep my yard in good looking condition! I work hard all day and like to chill in the evening on the deck or porch with company or just sit and watch the sun set. Some weekends I can sit on deck and the horse shows next door to me. I live in the country so life is laid back, quite and slow. I love it, a great place to be busy if you choose or just hang out!! Liberal, politically and socially aware individuals earn bonus points. Music lovers, movie fanatics and fans of comedy clubs will win me over more than tv junkies (although I do enjoy The History Channel, Discovery, TLC, etc).

This will sound strange, but people who know me describe me as both relaxed and intense; easy-going and high energy. Yes, those are oxymoronic adjectives, but it works for me.
I am equally at ease screaming on a roller coaster (preferably wooden) or cuddling and quitely watching a sunset.

I'm also terminally curious and unceasingly optimistic. Weekend spontaneity is also a hallmark of my existence. It's extremely enjoyable to hop in a car for the day (or entire weekend) with no plan in mind other than a likely destination.

I laugh easily and frequently and my good mood is usually contagious. I skip and Monkee Walk for no reason. One of my favorite quotes is from Oscar Wilde "Life is too important to be taken seriously".

That said, I love my job and believe that our work (and more importantly our attitude towards our work) is crucial to a healthy outlook on life.

I enjoy festivals and events. I get to the Renaissance Festival every year (no I don't have period clothes), Arts Festivals, leaf-peeping, and many other activities.

My only true addiction is films. My favorite of all time is "Mary Poppins". Kind of like revisiting childhood.

I travel when I can and the photo is from Alaska in September, 2008. I neither hunt nor fish, although I have been known to shoot things with a camera. Walking in the woods is rejuvinating and I have been swimming in all five Great Lakes.

Mostly I eat healthy (primarily vegetarian) and am a competent cook with most things, and excellent with a few. There is always pizza when results are inedible. Kitchen chores are a wonderful shared activity.

Originally from Wyoming and South Dakota, I came to MN for college. I studied psychology, women & gender, and french at a liberal arts college where I also did a lot of backstage (and some on-stage) theater work.

I am very independent and a bit of a free spirit. I live with a menagerie of pets and the best kiddo in the world. I hate introductions. They tend to be self-involved, and I don't like people to think that I am that way. I may talk about myself every once in awhile, but I would be much more interested in hearing about you and other people. But, since the basics are a must in this situation, I will give you a run down.

I am 23 years old and live in the small town I was raised in Minnesota. I used to go to a community college but discovered I couldn't afford it. I now work as a video clerk and photo lab tech at a large grocery chain until I figure out what I really want to do, which is a toss-up right now between working with children, or photography. I love both, and really just need a career where I can incorporate them both.

I was a music major... vocal performance. I enjoy the arts and am looking at experiencing it a lot more with someone more mature and experienced than I am.

I want to learn all I can about everything really. Since my time off from school, I have really been craving just.... learning, I guess. Something to fill my time and my head. Something to make me more intelligent, smart, and something to help me contribute to the world.

Also, despite my obvious stature and whatever okcupid questions I have answered that say otherwise, I absolutely love camping and all that goes with it. Hiking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming.... all that. Not any of that sissy stuff like staying in a five-star resort or in a camper with a kitchen and a shower. I like to get grungy and gross! Bring it on, I say. I must admit my faults though... I did not really go camping as a child. And I didn't learn how to kayak or canoe until I went to one of my favorite places in the world, Star Lake Camp. I was a camper there for 8 years, worked there one summer, and have been volunteering ever since. I will be going back up there this summer to lead a photography camp I helped create.
